After Barnes and Noble directives a book for me, how long do I hold...?
...before I have to go pick it up?
I get an email that it arrived at the store not last night but the night in the past that.
I'm out of town right now though for another few days.
They're not gonna like send it subsidise or sell it or something in that time frame are they?

You should have a few days to run pick it up - not everyone checks their email every day, and they have to know that. You could always ring the store and tell them when you will be coming, if that would make you feel better :-)
