How are ancestors on amazon and eBay competent to market brand trial, hermetic DVDs so cheaply?
I see a lot of powersellers out there between those two sites who are constantly selling brand new DVD releases for wayyyy smaller amount than retail and I don't understand how they are able to do that. I really don't think these are huge companies any, probably just individuals operating out of their homes. How can they sell them so cheaply? Are they stealing them? Making illegal copies?

If the hawker is overseas, like China, there's a good chance they're fictitious.
Some of it depends on how cheap the DVDs actually are. If they're going for $10 when the list is $30, that's still not unbelievable. Department stores put them on public sale for that. An internet seller can have thin margins, too. Someone who have done tens of thousands of sales in the US is probably legit - who would take the casual?
If it's a small seller, with a motley collection of titles, they could be just picking up things at garage sale and such at very low prices. Or it could have been a bequest that the person didn't really want.
